Foster & adoptive parent support

Care for the parents doing the caring.

Fostering and adoption can bring deep joy alongside grief, uncertainty, and emotional exhaustion. As an adoptive mom through foster care and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I offer a compassionate space for parents to process their experiences, strengthen relationships, and care for their own emotional well-being.

Therapy for parents

Individual therapy for foster and adoptive parents

This work is centered on you — the parent. Therapy offers space to slow down and make sense of what you're carrying, including:

  • Caregiver stress and burnout
  • Placement transitions, uncertainty, and grief
  • Parenting experiences that bring up personal trauma
  • Marriage strain and differences in parenting approaches
  • Attachment concerns and maintaining connection
  • The emotional complexity of relationships with birth families

My approach is grounded in attachment and informed by trauma. EMDR may be incorporated when clinically appropriate. For clients who desire it, Christian faith can be integrated into therapy.

Families of all faith backgrounds — and no faith background — are warmly welcome.

Planned for early 2027

Foster mom support group

I’m developing a support group for foster moms—a place to feel understood, build connection, and receive encouragement through the unique challenges of fostering. The group is planned for early 2027, with details still being developed. If you’re interested in participating or referring someone, I’d love to hear from you.

Community partnerships & practical support

Connecting foster families with practical support

Through my role as a Foster the City Vision Team member for Orange and LA County, I’m also working to connect local foster families with practical support and encouragement. Our church has approximately 40 volunteers who have expressed interest in serving as Support Friends, and we are seeking connections with families and community partners to understand local needs and explore appropriate next steps.

This is a church-based volunteer effort and is separate from my private therapy practice. Volunteers are not yet trained, matched, or immediately available, and this effort is not an official partnership with DCFS. Participation in this effort is not therapy and does not create a therapist–client relationship.

If you’re a social worker, foster care professional, ministry leader, or community partner, I’d welcome a conversation about how we can support local foster families.
